Sara and Andrew - the loveliest couple ever. When Sara first got in touch saying that they too were “potato people”, I knew that it was a perfect match.
We first met at the end of 2022 for their pre-wedding photography session at Balmedie Beach, which you can read more about here. But, all I’ll say is that these two certainly know how to survive in the wet Aberdeenshire weather. It. Was. Wet.
Fast forward a couple of months, the sun was shining and they were tying the knot. They wanted a really relaxed day with as little pressure as possible, and they certainly achieved that. From Sara’s dress to the music, almost everything was done, made and sourced by themselves, which I think made the day so much more personal.
Their ceremony was held at the David Welch Winter Gardens in Aberdeen and the reception took place at Six°North / Smoke & Soul (a local bar in the city centre), which served comfort food and artisanal craft beer. Very chilled, very fun, very intimate.
Call it an alternative wedding if you like, but to me, it was a shining example of how to get married exactly how you want to. No fuss, no stuffy traditions, just two people celebrating their love for each other the way they want to. It was dreamy.
Congratulations Sara and Andrew, it was a pleasure being your wedding photographer.
