I’m totally and utterly obsessed with film photography. I got my very first camera when I was around 15 and it just happened to be a really clunky film camera. I still have it and it comes out every now and again for it’s moment in the spotlight. But, we’ve evolved a bit since then.
That’s why I’ve decided to add film photography to my wedding packages from 2026. Yes, film is unpredictable. Yes, it’s wildly expensive. And yes, it’s 100% worth it.
I’ll be shooting on a variety of film and it’ll depend on the setting. Outdoors I’ll be using Gold 200, Porta 400 and possibly Porta 800. Indoors I’ll be using Illford Delta 3200 and Cinestill 800T.
If you’d like 35mm film captured indoors and the space is particularly dark, I’ll be shooting in black and white.
I don’t develop my film photos myself (yet), instead I use a wonderful film lab in Glasgow. They’ve been around since 2019 and specialise in professional, fast, high-quality developing and scanning. The film is sent securely in the post and I’ll be tracking it all the way.
Your images will be delivered digitally alongside your full gallery (maybe sooner if I’m too excited to share them). The film is scanned at a high resolution using professional equipment and you will able able to print your images up to A4 in size.
I’ll be carrying three cameras on me during your wedding day (two digital and one film) and I’ll prioritise digital over film. Everything I take on film will also be captured on digital to ensure your day is fully documented and your memories are safe. How much film I shoot is up to you, but I normally suggest two rolls.
Due to the nature of film it requires time, thoughtful composition and intention. That's why I usually use it during slower, more intimate parts of the wedding day - during morning prep, your couples session, portraits, details, etc.
