Charleton Farm Wedding – James & Megan’s Rustic Celebration Full of Love

Charleton Farm Wedding – James & Megan’s Rustic Celebration Full of Love

As a wedding photographer in Aberdeen, I get to witness some pretty amazing love stories, but James and Megan’s Charleton Farm wedding was something truly special. Set in the gorgeous Charleton Fruit Farm in Montrose, their big day was the perfect mix of rustic vibes, family love, and an epic party.

The morning started at the beautiful Kinblethmont House, where Megan was surrounded by her nearest and dearest while getting ready. She looked absolutely stunning in her Kudos Bridal Edinburgh dress, while James rocked a traditional McCalls kilt, embracing his Scottish roots. Once everyone was ready, it was just a short ride to the wedding venue!

Getting Ready at Kinblethmont House

The couple tied the knot in Charleton Fruit Farm’s rustic barn, surrounded by family and friends who had traveled from Scotland, Ireland, and even as far as Australia! With whisky being a big part of their journey, it only made sense to include a whiskey quaich ceremony—because, really, what’s a Scottish wedding without a wee dram? Graeme from Charleton made sure everything ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was packed with laughter, love, and a whole lot of happy tears.

The Ultimate Confetti Tunnel – A Moment to Remember!

Now, this was a highlight! As James and Megan stepped out as newlyweds, they were met with an explosion of confetti, showering them in colour, joy, and pure happiness. It was such a fun and emotional moment—exactly what a wedding celebration should be!

Thinking of Doing a Confetti Throw? Here’s How to Make It Awesome…

💡 Tip 1: Get your guests ready! Have someone hand out confetti as people leave the ceremony space—this keeps things smooth and stress-free. While I coordinate everything, you can chill and enjoy a wee celebratory drink.

💡 Tip 2: More is more! Seriously, buy double or even triple the amount of confetti you think you’ll need. The bigger the throw, the better the photos!

💡 Tip 3: Personally, I love and recommend biodegradable paper confetti over petals. Although petals are lovely, paper confetti falls slower, it doesn’t get stuck in your hair and it just looks so much dreamier! If you do choose petals, go for the large sized.

💡 Tip 4: Want a discount? Use code YCSCOTTARLOW at Your Confetti for a cheeky little saving. I always recommend their biodegradable confetti—it’s what I use at my weddings!

💡 Tip 5: Stop halfway down the aisle for a quick kiss—it makes for an absolutely dreamy shot.

James and Megan’s couple portraits on the gorgeous Charleton Farm grounds were pure magic! I love to keep things relaxed and fun, capturing you both in your element—laughing, connecting, and soaking in the joy of the day. No stiff poses here—just natural moments that show off your love.
Feeling camera-shy? No problem! I’ll guide you through it, keeping things super easy and comfortable. And with the beautiful backdrop of Charleton, we created memories that will last a lifetime.

Bonus: I offer a pre-wedding session with my main packages, perfect for getting comfy in front of the camera before the big day!

Couple Portraits at Charleton Farm

After the confetti settled, guests wandered into the cozy barn for the wedding breakfast, which had a relaxed, rustic vibe thanks to Megan’s DIY table decor—think greenery, fairy lights, and a whole lot of charm! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with laughter filling the air as the speeches kicked off. Full of funny stories and touching moments, they captured the love and joy of James and Megan’s big day, making it a truly unforgettable celebration.

A Dreamy Wedding Breakfast & Heartfelt Speeches

Once the formalities were done, it was time to let loose! The Manhattan Wedding Band brought the party vibes, and the dance floor was packed all night. To top it off, their talented friend Holly made the most incredible homemade wedding cake—a personal touch that made the day even more special.

James and Megan, capturing your Charleton Farm wedding was an absolute pleasure. Your day was filled with love and I know it’s one that no one will forget anytime soon!
